US Reaction to the Trial
The reaction in the US was mixed. With many hailing Saddam’s execution and praising it, while small gatherings of Iraqi Americans shared there condolences for the tyrants death by holding up flags in a somber mourning tradition. This reaction is expected to continue due to Bush’s perseverance in making peace in Iraq by sending in the troops, this is seen by many as a bad move, when the country is in such a volatile state.
UK Reaction to the Trial
There was great praise among the UK as the trail came to a close with the execution of Saddam to many this means the war is over and family members will be returning home. However many Iraqi supporters showed there mourning much like the US with the Iraqi flag with Saddam’s emblem present as a sign of respect.
Iraqi Reaction to the Trial
The reaction in Iraq like the rest of the world was mostly mixed. With many claiming that the trial was successful, that they had vengeance on the tyrant, with one man even going so far to say they were ‘not only stoning the devil, they were stoning Saddam Hussein’. However many Iraqi militant supporters were left in mourning with their leader dead and their country invaded. Many also showed their sign of respect by holding up flags of the Iraqi nation.
