- Sunday 30th December 2006
Saddam is hung in the gallows after being found guilty of war crimes in the 1980’s.Tuesday - 26th December 2006
Saddam’s appeal is rejected and the death sentence is made official. - Sunday 3rd December
Saddam’s lawyers make an appeal against the death sentence, the appeal will be reviewed by nine other judges and a decision is to be made within 30 days. - Sunday 5th November
Saddam is found guilty of crimes against humanity for ordering the death of 148 Shias in 1982. He is sentences to death by hanging. - Sunday 29th October
The courts chiefs’ prosecutor says the verdict on Saddam could be delayed by two weeks. The Bush administration denies pushing for a verdict. - Thursday 27th July
The trial is to be adjourned until the 16th October when a verdict will be made; Saddam is not present for this decision. - Wednesday 26th July
Saddam claims he was forcefully removed from his hospital bed and pleas against the decision of if he is sentenced to death he would prefer a shooting than a hanging. - Monday 24th July
The trial resumes without Saddam who is in hospital because of a hunger strike. - Monday 10th July
Saddam announces a boycott of the ‘malicious’ trail and begins a hunger strike. - Monday 19th June
The chief prosecution delivers its final comments, its seems apparent to many that this will indeed be the beginning of the end for the trail.
